The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after her death, which is probably why it is scene as a symbol of love. It is located on the banks of the Yamuna River in the city of Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. One thing very strange about the Taj Mahal is that its color changes three times a day, depending on the light and time. In the morning it looks pink, milky white in the evening, and golden in the moonlight.
