This museum was founded in 1858 and holds the world's most valuable collection of items from ancient Egypt. It has more that 150,000 objects to explore, including many treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamen. Some other fascinating exhibits are like the carrying chair and gold-covered furniture of Queen Hetepheres, mummies, ancient writings on papyrus, and jewelry. What makes this museum unique is that it covers all of Egyptian History, even if most of the collections are from the time of the pharaohs.
