In this temple, along with its impressive architecture and well-preserved heiroglyphs, is a captivating glimpse into the religious and cultural beliefs of ancient Egypt. This temple was actually buried under sand for centuries, due to its abandonment and the gradual accumulation of sand over the years, until it was rediscovered by French archaeologist Auguste Mariette in the 1860s. You can also find a well preserved Nilometer, which was used to monitor the water levels of the Nile River, vital for agricultural planning and predicting the annual flood.
