The pyramids are located just outside of Giza, Egypt. Each pyramid holds the remains of members of the Fourth Dynasty. The pyramids were built during this royal families reign from around 2613-2494 BC and have their own names. The Pyramid of Giza is the largest one, being built about 481 feet high. Next is the Pyramid of Khafre, with a height of 448 feet. And lastly is the Pyramid of Menkaure, being the smallest reaching 213 feet high. For about 3,800 years the Pyramid of Giza was the tallest buidling in the world.
